Police and Fire Respond to Small Blaze at Murfreesboro's Starbucks on Old Fort Parkway

MURFREESBORO, TN – As a result of WGNS listeners messaging the station on Thursday morning asking about an incident that unfolded at an Old Fort Parkway eatery, we talked to Murfreesboro Police who told us authorities responded to a business after receiving a report of a fire. MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers confirmed that in a swift response to the possible fire at Starbucks in front of Home Depot, Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene at 7:43 a.m. (December 28). The incident occurred during the coffee shop's renovation activities, with construction workers present at the time.

Upon investigation, it was determined that a small fire had ignited in ductwork. The efficient and prompt action of the fire and rescue team led to the rapid extinguishing of the blaze, preventing any escalation of the incident. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries during the incident.

Starbucks on Old Fort Parkway is temporarily closed for renovations. The closure will allow for any necessary assessments while undergoing enhancements at the establishment, ensuring for a safe and welcoming environment that both customers and staff will appreciate upon reopening.
