Murfreesboro, TN - A brazen shoplifting incident has rattled the quiet streets of Murfreesboro, specifically at The Avenue, a popular shopping destination. Murfreesboro Detectives are now on the lookout for three women in connection with a significant theft case reported at Old Navy on Medical Center Parkway.

The daring heist that recently unfolded, saw thieves make off with a haul of assorted clothing valued at a staggering $3,000, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD). The stolen merchandise included a variety of items, ranging from shorts and pants to pullovers and even Old Navy shopping totes.

How Much Clothing Equals $3,000 at Old Navy? Because Old Navy is known for its affordable and trendy clothing, the lifted items could potentially translate into a substantial quantity of outfits. To highlight an example of how much the trio may have walked away with, using the stores advertised prices as a reference, the loot could have included 90 pairs of jeans at $18 each, 90 flannel shirts for $13 each, and 60 pairs of plant-based flip-flops - designed for those with an Eco-friendly mindset, for $3.49 each – ALL adding up to $3,000!

In light of the incident, local detectives are actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying the three women seen in surveillance footage (photos above this article). Detective Jonathan Gomez is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information to come forward.

"If you know these persons of interest, call Detective Jonathan Gomez at 629-201-5642," announced the MPD. "Alternatively, you can share information by emailing the detective at 1135@murfreesborotn.gov."

Local law enforcement are determined to bring the culprits to justice. But keep in mind, groups of shoplifters that hit area stores with a $3,000 loss, often drive city-to-city. Sometimes, it can take months of police work to nab traveling thieves. Regardless, it's incidents like this one that serve as a reminder for businesses and shoppers alike to remain vigilant in the face of criminal activity, especially in bustling shopping areas filled with people.
