(MURFREESBORO) The MLK, Jr. March in Murfreesboro that was scheduled for Monday, has been canceled. Slippery streets, icy sidewalks, a mix of snow, as well as temperatures in the teens forced the local branch of the NAACP to cancel the event this year.
March Coordinator Shawn Brown told WGNS, "It's too dangerous to mix marchers with motorists on slippery, snowy roads, and with temperatures in the teens."
Again, Monday's MLK March for Murfreesboro has been canceled.
In nearby Music City, the Nashville MLK March and Rally has also been canceled. Organizers canceled the event due to inclement weather and out of concern for the safety of community members. However, the convocation will go on virtually in Nashville at 9 am (click here for more).
