MURFREESBORO, TN - On Thursday, February 1, Middle Tennessee State University officials inaugurated the new $8 million Outdoor Tennis Complex situated at the intersection of Middle Tennessee Boulevard and Greenland Drive on campus.

This modern facility will host the 2024 CUSA Men’s Tennis Championships on April 20-21 and will serve as the home venue for MTSU’s men’s and women’s tennis teams. It features eight state-of-the-art tennis courts, new locker rooms, spectator facilities accommodating 250 Blue Raiders fans, and upgraded coaches’ offices, among other amenities.

The complex is part of MTSU Athletics’ $100 million Build Blue campaign, aiming to enhance infrastructure and resources for all 17 athletic programs to compete at a championship level.

MORE ON BUILD BLUE: Less than two years into MTSU's athletic fundraising campaign, which will come to a close this year, a remarkable display of community support took place in the third quarter of 2023. SRM Concrete, a prominent local company, demonstrated its commitment to education, athletics and community development. As part of the ongoing Build Blue Campaign at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), SRM Concrete made an extraordinary donation of $3 million, marking a significant milestone in the university's athletic history.

The Build Blue Campaign, which has garnered widespread enthusiasm, aims to foster collaboration among local businesses, MTSU alumni, and major corporations to actively shape the university's future. SRM Concrete, formerly known as Smyrna Ready Mix, has been a key player in this campaign, showcasing the company's steadfast commitment to the betterment of the local area. MTSU officials announced that SRM Concrete's generous contribution stands as the third-largest donation ever made in the history of the university's athletics department.

This past August, MTSU officials announced “SRM Concrete's donation pushed Build Blue past its $20-million private fundraising goal.” The company's dedication to making a positive impact echoes the spirit of unity and collaboration that defines the vibrant communities of Smyrna, Murfreesboro, LaVergne, Eagleville and the surrounding areas.
