La Vergne TN - Oswaldo Corado, a 19-year-old facing two separate criminal homicide charges, found himself back behind bars after a recent incident at Mill Ridge Park on Old Hickory Boulevard. Corado, who was out on bond awaiting trial in the two murder cases, was arrested following an altercation where he allegedly shot a 23-year-old male acquaintance in the hand and threatened the victim's cousin with a firearm.
The swift response from law enforcement became imperative, considering Corado's perceived threat to the community. Detectives from various components of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), including the Specialized Investigations Division and SWAT/Special Response Team, collaborated to locate him. Two new aggravated assault warrants were issued early Saturday morning, prompting a concerted effort to apprehend Corado.
Saturday night, Corado was located in Rutherford County, specifically at the Wal-Mart parking lot in La Vergne. MNPD units, in coordination with La Vergne Police, executed a vehicle jam operation led by SWAT officers, resulting in Corado's arrest. He was subsequently transported to the Downtown Detention Center and booked, with a judicial commissioner setting bond at $150,000 for the new warrants.
Corado's troubled history dates back to his arrest at the age of 16 on December 16, 2020, when he was charged with criminal homicide in connection with the fatal shooting of Lee V. Turner Jr., 22, outside the Tornado Bus Station on Nolensville Pike. Subsequently, in 2021, Corado faced another criminal homicide charge for the November 16, 2020, fatal shooting of Alexander Presley, 34, as Presley sat in his car in the driveway of his Weaver Drive home.
Both homicide cases were transferred from Juvenile Court to Criminal Court, and as part of his bond conditions, Corado was required to wear an ankle monitor and abstain from being in proximity to firearms.
