MTSU Alumnus Andy Womack Receives Prestigious Awards for Business and Education Contributions

Murfreesboro, TN - MTSU alum Andy Womack garners additional accolades as he is recognized by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce as Business Legend of the Year and honored by the Murfreesboro City Schools Foundation alongside his wife, Cherry Womack. With over 40 years as a State Farm Insurance agent and a former three-term state senator, Womack's achievements were celebrated at an awards ceremony on February 15 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
 
The Womacks' commitment to public education will be highlighted at the 17th annual Excellence in Education Celebration on April 26. Andy Womack's longstanding career in the insurance industry began before his graduation from MTSU in 1970, with notable roles at State Farm Insurance and New York Life Insurance Co. Recognized for his outstanding performance, Womack has received numerous awards including the President’s Club Qualifier in 2004 and the Crystal Excellence Award in 2007 from State Farm.
 
Beyond his professional achievements, Womack's dedication to public education and his alma mater, MTSU, is evident. As a former senator, he chaired the Senate Education Committee and played a pivotal role in funding MTSU facilities. His contributions extend to various community organizations, showcasing his commitment to service and leadership.
