Murfreesboro, TN - Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is set to launch its third class of the Physician Assistant Studies Program in May 2024, offering aspiring healthcare professionals an affordable and rigorous educational pathway. The program, housed within the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, spans 27 months and is recognized as the least expensive Physician Assistant Program in the State of Tennessee.

Applications for the 2024-2025 application cycle will open in late April 2024 through the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA), providing prospective students with an opportunity to pursue a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (M.S.) degree. This degree not only aligns with MTSU's institutional mission but also serves as the educational credential required for licensure to practice in one of the fastest-growing occupational sectors in Middle Tennessee.

With a growth rate of 42 percent, the demand for Physician Assistants is on the rise, particularly in the Nashville-Murfreesboro-Franklin area, where one-third of all PA positions in Tennessee are located. By offering this program, MTSU aims to bridge the gap between employer demand and societal need for increased access to healthcare services.
