(MURFREESBORO) Local author Jim Sandman will be at the Linebaugh Public Library, 105 W. Vine Street, from 10AM-2PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024. The local author signing event is for his new book Heaven is Like Eternal Sex-And Other Things You Really Desire. In addition, get to know more about this local author. Sandman poses the question, "Would you like to have every deep-seated desire completely satisfied for eternity?"
His answer might surprise you, "You can, but you have a choice to make. And the offer has been available since the beginning of time. Every human desire we have will be ultimately fulfilled in Heaven, and forever!"
Jim shares glimpses of Heaven from folks who had near-death experiences, and descriptions from holy Scripture.
He is originally from Virginia, but moved to Rutherford County in 1997 after retiring from the U.S. Navy Submarine service as a Chief Fire Control Technician (torpedo/missile). Jim is a Desert Storm veteran who, after graduating from MTSU, had a second career in Information Technology, previously employed by LifeWay and Amazon.
Sandman now spends his “retirement” enjoying four grandchildren, reading, writing, genealogy (Mark Twain is a 2nd cousin), playing guitar, and serving his second term on the State Executive Committee of the TN GOP, 13th District.
Additionally, he is National Chaplain of the U.S. Submarine Veterans Inc (USSVI), a member of the Volunteer Base USSVI, Registrar and Chaplain of Stones River Chapter - Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), member of VFW Post 12206, past Commander of American Legion Post 141, member of Camp #33 (Murfreesboro) Sons of Confederate Veterans, and member of Camp #62 (Donelson) Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Jim is active at One Church-Calvary in Murfreesboro, and brings a monthly Chapel service to The Villages senior living community. He resides in Christiana with his wife Kim, also a Navy veteran, who is the Manager of Ground Operations at MTSU’s Aerospace Department.
