Rutherford County, TN - Residents are urged to exercise caution as Rutherford County faces elevated fire danger on March 25th due to high winds and other contributing factors.

The Rutherford County Fire Marshal's Office has issued a warning advising against open burning activities during this period. The combination of dry conditions and gusty winds increases the risk of fires spreading rapidly, posing a threat to property and public safety.

"We want to emphasize the importance of refraining from open burning today," stated officials from the Rutherford County Fire Marshal's Office. "The elevated fire danger presents a significant risk of property damage, injury, and potential loss of life."

Open burning includes activities such as burning yard waste, brush, or debris. The Fire Marshal's Office emphasizes that even seemingly controlled burns can quickly escalate under the current weather conditions.
