Murfreesboro, TN - Main Street Murfreesboro is celebrating National Historic Preservation Month in May by hosting two “Community Scanning Day” events.  Preserving historical photographs is a great way to ensure that the rich history of Murfreesboro is documented and accessible for future generations.

Scan days have been scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd, from 10am until 2pm and May 9th, 10am-2pm, at the Historical Research Center and Archives building located at 435 Rice Street, Murfreesboro, TN.  37129.

Please bring your photographs to either session to be scanned and preserved digitally.  Main Street Murfreesboro is looking for specific photographs taken within the boundaries of the historic downtown district from the 1800’s to 1980 that represent the following subjects:

All participants donating the use of their scanned photos to Main Street Murfreesboro for marketing and promotional purposes will be asked to sign an archive ‘release form.’  When you arrive, you will have access and support to scan your photos for preservation in digital form for you to save.  Please bring a thumb drive if you would like to save your scanned digital copies to take home.

Follow along with Main Street Murfreesboro this month and discover hidden gems downtown with stories, photographs, and fun activities to join in as we celebrate our past in order to preserve our future!
