Oakland and Blackman Middle Schools took this year's WGNS Primetime Sports, Little Caesars Pizza All Sports Trophies.
The Chargers took two of the three, capturing both the girls and overall all sports trophies. Oakland won the girls award behind a regular season championship in volleyball and the soccer and softball tournament titles. Their second place finish in the soccer, basketball and softball regular season plus volleyball and basketball tournament runner up finishes helped them outpace Blackman by 15-points. It's the third time Oakland has won the girls trophy.
The Oakland boys finished with 10-points thanks to their football regular season tie with Blackman and championship game win. Their baseball team also finished third in the regular season. Thanks to those combined points, the Chargers finished just four-points ahead of Blackman for the overall trophy. It's the seventh time in the last 12-years Oakland has won the overall trophy.
The Flames were 10-points better than La Vergne this year to take the boys all sports trophy. A football undefeated regular season, basketball regular season and tournament championship and baseball tournament championship set them ahead of the competition. It's the sixth time in the last eight years Blackman has won the boys trophy.
