NASHVILLE, TN - The Metro Nashville Police Department is continuing its initiative to identify individuals participating in street racing and so-called street racer stunts. Recent intersection takeovers have led to the arrest of 20-year-old Cesar Sandoval, charged with felony reckless endangerment for his alleged involvement as a driver, or as police call him, a “slider,” in a May 2023 takeover of the Nolensville Pike-Elysian Fields Road intersection.

Sandoval was located in Murfreesboro this past Thursday, where he was arrested by Murfreesboro Police and transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. He was booked into the local jail on Thursday night and picked up by Metro Police during the early morning hours of Friday. Sandoval was then transferred to Nashville, where he was booked under a $2,500 bond, which he posted.

According to Metro Police, Sandoval is alleged to have recklessly driven his car in the intersection while a pedestrian or spectator chased after him, and other pedestrians watched from a “pit” area. Sandoval was also accused of operating a social media account that features posts of intersection takeovers and other street racer activities. Police report that Sandoval is the 45th person arrested for street racing since March 2023.
