Today on the WGNS podcast, Bart Walker sits down with Murfreesboro City Councilmember Jami Averwater to discuss various issues that may impact the city. As a native of Rutherford County, Averwater has witnessed the rapid growth of Murfreesboro and feels passionately about the city’s continued success.
Averwater has been a member of the Murfreesboro Planning Commission since 2021, a role that inspired her to run for City Council. She began her first term in 2022. Averwater is a proud alum of Webb School, with Bell Buckle holding a special place in her heart. She earned her degree in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University and went on to receive a J.D. from Belmont University College of Law.
