RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Read To Succeed (RTS) continues to change lives through reading, a skill most of us take for granted. However, imagine not being able to read a menu at a restaurant or understand directions on how often to take medicine for a headache—simply because you cannot read the warnings. Perhaps even more devastating is not being able to read your child a bedtime story, which is often one of the biggest motivators for adults to learn how to read.
This Murfreesboro-based non-profit works to provide a variety of free literacy programs throughout the community... That was Jolene Radnoti, Executive Director of Read To Succeed.

Currently, 1 out of 6 adults in Rutherford County struggles with literacy, highlighting the need for more assistance. RTS is actively seeking to increase the number of tutors in their program to address the ongoing and growing problem of adult illiteracy.
Teaching someone to read can change the direction of not only one life, but the lives of an entire family... Being able to read can open the door to new jobs, better health choices, and, of course, building a better relationship with your children or grandchildren through reading, or more specifically, reading to them.

RECENT GRANT NEWS FOR RTS - Read To Succeed (RTS) was one of 183 Middle Tennessee recipients of the Nashville Predators’ Helper Grant late last month. The grant ceremony, held at Ford Ice Center Bellevue in Nashville, celebrated the dedication of numerous organizations to community development. “The grant money we provide will be used to fund projects and programs benefiting youth and their families,” stated Rebecca King, Nashville Predators Vice President of Community Relations.
RTS received a generous $5,000 grant to bolster their family and adult literacy programs. This funding is crucial for sustaining and expanding their initiatives, including Family Literacy Nights, Imagination Stations, Adult Basic Education, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. These programs are designed to support individuals and families in Rutherford County by providing essential literacy resources and fostering a lifelong love for reading.
Jolene Radnoti, Executive Director of Read To Succeed, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the grant. “We are immensely grateful to the Nashville Predators Foundation for their generous grant, which allows us to continue our literacy mission. This support will enable us to provide resources to children and adults in the community, fostering a love of reading and learning. Thank you for helping us make a positive impact!” Radnoti said.
