UPDATE: Injured Motorcyclist Airlifted After I-24 Accident in Murfreesboro on Sunday

Murfreesboro, TN – New information has emerged about a serious auto accident that took place on I-24 this past Sunday, June 16th, involving a 54-year-old man identified as Anthony Davis. The incident occurred at approximately 5 PM near the exit for Old Fort Parkway. Davis, riding a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was traveling westbound when he lost control near mile marker 78.

First responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist Davis. The severity of the accident led to significant disruptions on the interstate. Impatient drivers, in an attempt to avoid the traffic jam, turned around and drove in the opposite direction to exit via the New Salem Highway interchange entrance. This chaotic scene unfolded as an inbound medical helicopter was arriving to transport Davis to a hospital.

The helicopter managed to land safely, and Davis was promptly airlifted from the accident site. He was transported to a nearby hospital; however, details regarding the extent of his injuries have not yet been disclosed.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
