Winning Streak: Rutherford County Resident Among Recent Tennessee Lottery Winners

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Tennessee residents have been on a winning streak this month, with several notable victories in the state’s lottery games. Among the latest success stories is a Murfreesboro resident who unknowingly went home with the winning numbers on their Mega Millions ticket. The surprise of a lifetime came this past Friday night when the numbers were announced, and they realized they had just won a staggering $3 million! The winner had matched all five Mega Millions numbers, and increased their winnings with the Megaplier option.The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on S. Church Street at Butler Drive, according to reports.

Adding to the excitement this past wekend, the Tennessee Lottery also reported another $10,000 Mega Millions winner in the same drawing. The secondary winner is located in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Also in Murfreesboro, Alan Smalley struck gold with a $50,000 win. He purchased his ticket at the RaceTrac convenience store on the corner of NW Broad Street and Thompson Lane. Just down the road in Nashville, Darryl Howse hit the jackpot with a $320,000 win after buying his ticket at a Daily's gas station on Fesslers Lane.

Last week, Tennessee Lottery officials reported a Hamilton County resident won $250,000 through a lucky Powerball pick, successfully matching the correct digits. Earlier in the month, a Mega Millions player in Springfield hit it big with a $1 million win, while another person pocketed $100,000 with a successful Powerball ticket.

Nashville’s Kyne Marshall joined the ranks of winners with a $50,000 prize from a Powerball ticket, and Debra Horton from Fayetteville scratched her way to $10,000 with a “Hit and Win” ticket.

Last month also saw significant wins. Brenda Cheatwood of Knoxville took home $2 million with her Powerball ticket that was purchased at a local Publix. In LaVergne, William Whitfield secured $1,000 per week for life in the “Cash 4 Life” game, with his winning ticket bought at Larros Market. Lebanon also celebrated a winner with a $200,000 prize from an “Aces of Spade” scratch-off ticket.

These wins contribute to the more than $20.5 billion in prizes awarded by the Tennessee Lottery over the years, proving that luck can strike anywhere in the Volunteer State.
