Maury County, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has confirmed a reward of $2,500 for information leading to the capture of a fugitive wanted for the murder of Harold “BJ” Grisham II in Maury County, Tennessee. Grisham, 37, was shot and killed on September 4 at his girlfriend's home.

Grisham resided with his significant other, whose residence is located near Old Leipers Creek Road, approximately two miles from I-840 in Columbia, TN. Some media outlets, along with friends and acquaintances of Grisham, have speculated that the killing may have stemmed from a love triangle. While Dobbs has a lengthy criminal history that spans nearly 20 years, this appears to be the first time he has been accused of murder. Among the nearly 50 charges he has faced in the past are child endangerment, theft, burglary, assault, and drug possession.

Suspect Michael Van Dobbs has warrants for his arrest that charge him with criminal homicide. The 46-Year-old was added to the TBI Most Wanted List on Monday, September 9. The public is urged to remain on the lookout for Dobbs, who is described as being armed and dangerous. According to law enforcement, citizens are strongly advised not to approach him if spotted.

Currently, Dobbs is on active supervised probation for the sell of and / or the manufacturing of meth in both Williamson and Maury Counties. His assigned probation office appears to be under District 50, that is served by the probation and parole office on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro. His current sentence ends in year 2031.

Authorities described Dobbs as standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 240 pounds. He has blue eyes and blonde, balding hair. The TBI and the Maury County Sheriff’s Department ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts to immediately contact law enforcement. The Maury County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at (931) 388-5151 and you can call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
