Murfreesboro, TN – In a recent update, Murfreesboro police believe they have identified the suspect in a shoplifting case at Lowe’s on Old Fort Parkway.
The incident, which occurred during the last week of August, initially prompted the Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) to ask the public for help in identifying the so-called "Person of Interest" seen on security cameras casually strolling through the aisles.
The woman was spotted browsing, not for tools or hardware, but home décor. She’ll soon have to face the Rutherford County Courts, where she’ll have to explain how $952.25 worth of home goods allegedly left the store without being paid for.
Though the charges are serious, the suspect appeared calm and collected in the surveillance footage, smiling as she wandered through the store (as seen in photos released by police). MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers said on Tuesday, “Thanks to tips from residents the person of interest in the theft/shoplifting case at Lowes has been identified.” With the suspect’s identity confirmed, Detective Ed Gorham was able to obtain warrants for her arrest.
