Small Businessman, Civil Engineer Jerome Dempsey Announces Candidacy for Smyrna Town Councilman

Smyrna, TN— Smyrna businessman and Civil Engineer (retired) Jerome Dempsey announced today that he will seek the position of Town Councilman in the upcoming November 5th election. 

Dempsey offers Smyrna the strong leadership, unparalleled experience, and qualifications needed to serve the Town of Smyrna in this time of record growth. 

“Smyrna is a great place to live, work and raise a family which is clear by the growth we’re experiencing in our great town. Our quality of life is second to none, but to remain a strong and attractive town, we need strong leaders with a plan. I will be a voice for the citizens”. 

Jerome has lived in, and served, Smyrna for decades. Dempsey was the Founder and President of Dempsey, Dilling & Associates, P.C. before his retirement and is a longtime member, and past president, of the Smyrna Rotary Club.

Dempsey cites traffic and infrastructure, public safety, smart growth, and fiscal responsibility amongst the top issues he is dedicated to addressing If elected. Jerome has consistently vowed throughout his campaign to use his engineering knowledge and decades of experience to work to get Smyrna’s traffic moving again and to provide adequate infrastructure. 

Jerome is a father, grandfather, and husband to his wife Teresa of 32-years.

Dempsey holds a M.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee and B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from Tennessee State University 

Early voting begins for the November 5th General Election on October 16th and ends October 31st.
