Oct 02, 2024 at 07:02 pm by WGNS News

MURFREESBORO, TN - The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is searching for two exceptional Veterans—one female and one male—to serve as Grand Marshals at this year’s Veterans Day Parade on November 16. The annual event will take place at the York VA Medical Center Campus in Murfreesboro, a historic facility that has been treating military members from all branches since 1940. This is a unique opportunity for Veterans from Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky to lead the parade in recognition of their service.

To be considered for this honor, Veterans must be enrolled in the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and provide their DD214, along with a 250-word biography and a current headshot. Nominations can be made by the individual Veteran or by someone else, with the deadline set for October 11, 2024. Interested Veterans are encouraged to send nominations via email to TVHS Center for Development and Civic Engagement.

The chosen Veterans will help lead this special day of remembrance and gratitude, representing the many who have served.

Individuals may nominate themselves or another Veteran. Nominations are due by Oct. 11, 2024 to TVHS Center for Development and Civic Engagement via email at TVHVSS@va.gov.
