Murfreesboro, TN – On October 19, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, MTSU’s Todd Hall will host "Saturdays At Todd: Surrealist Techniques," an engaging workshop led by MTSU Art and Design Alum Frank Baugh. This event invites participants aged 14 and up to explore surrealism’s groundbreaking practices, such as automatic writing, drawing, the exquisite corpse method, and dream journaling.
Frank Baugh, an acclaimed artist, educator, and recent Best of Show recipient at the Rutherford Arts Alliance Summertime Exhibition, will lead the free, interactive session. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice various surrealist techniques aimed at unlocking the hidden potential of the unconscious mind, with all materials provided.
The workshop is limited to 25 participants, and registration is required. K-12 teachers can earn Professional Development Certificates. The event is a collaborative effort between MTSU and the Visual Arts Group of the Rutherford Arts Alliance, welcoming the public, art educators, and Alliance members.
Todd Art Gallery hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm, and Saturday, 11:00 am–4:00 pm. For registration or additional inquiries, contact 615-898-5532 or gallery@mtsu.edu.
