Murfreesboro, TN - Founder Steve Cates confirmed that the 2025 International Folkfest visiting dance troups are from Puerto Rico, Slovakia and Estonia. The event will take place June 8-15, 2024 and is hosted by this area's goodwill ambassadors, the Cripple Creek Cloggers.
The International Folkfest promotes international cultures by bringing them to the United States and vice versa. The festival includes performances for schools, civic clubs, youth organizations, and senior citizen groups.
The local Cripple Creek Cloggers, who will be celebrating their 59th year, along with troupes from Slovakia, Estonia and Puerto Rico will showcase their culture, dances, and musical presentations.
Cates noted, "With dance groups from around the world, the International Folkfest promises to be a week of excitement and education for middle Tennessee. Throughout the week, international groups will perform for area schools, youth and senior citizen organizations and for civic clubs."
This local event was formed in 1986, The International Folkloric Society Planning Council, Inc. (IFS) is a non-profit organization based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Our mission is to promote and preserve international cultural heritage with a primary focus on the arts.
