Early Voting in Rutherford County to End Thursday

Oct 30, 2024 at 02:30 pm by WGNS

Local residents have only until Thursday to take advantage of early voting opportunities in this year’s election. Officials are encouraging voters to make their voices heard and avoid anticipated Election Day lines.

During early voting, nine different Rutherford County polling sites have been open, giving voters the chance to cast their ballots at convenient times. The county has reported steady turnout so far, with the earliest days and here at the end of early voting being the busiest.

Administrator Alan Farley reminds those who choose to vote at the Election Commission offices on the downtown square Thursday that trick or treating from 3-5pm will restrict parking and even driving on the outer circle. You'll have to park and walk to the office or choose one of the other eight locations. The most convenient to their office is the annex on Vine Street.

If you don't vote early, you'll need to wait until Election Day to cast your ballot. With the county's convenient vote centers, you are able to vote at any location, regardless if it's in your district or not.

For more details on voting times and locations, residents are encouraged to check the Rutherford County Election Commission website.

Also, remember you can listen or watch election results as they come in. WGNS & Big G TV will have complete coverage of the local, state and national races beginning at 7pm. Bryan Barrett and Bart Walker will follow local returns, the Tennessee Radio Network will provide statewide coverage and CBS Radio News will have anchored coverage of the biggest races around the country. Campaign 2024 on NewsRadio WGNS is presented by Toot's, Wilson Bank, McCabe Vision Center, Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home and Farrer Construction.
