In light of the recent loss of an MTSU student by suicide, staff from MTSU’s Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center are speaking up about the importance of mental health awareness and the resources they offer to the campus and broader community.

Dr. Hilary Miller, Director of the Daniels Center, explains that the center’s mental health services are available to anyone in need, not only to MTSU students but also to anyone in the community seeking support:

Dr. Miller emphasized that the Daniels Center prioritized hiring a full-time mental health advisor to ensure people always have someone to turn to. She added that checking in on those who may be struggling is essential for a strong, caring community:

The Daniels Center welcomes anyone to reach out, whether an MTSU student or not. Veterans from anywhere in the world can also connect with the center. To reach out, call 615-898-5039 or visit their website.
