Murfreesboro, TN - On Wednesday evening, crews from the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) swiftly responded to reports of a fire at a luxury apartment complex on Thompson Lane, where a kitchen blaze broke out just after 5 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find smoke on the fourth floor, where they located an active fire that had originated on a stovetop within one of the units. Thanks to the fast response and coordinated efforts, the fire was quickly contained and extinguished, with no reported injuries.
Upon arrival, firefighters from Ladder 1, 4, 6, and 11, along with Rescue 4 and 11, Engine 3, 5, and 7, as well as Battalion Chiefs 1 and 2, and Safety 1 and 2, evacuated residents and secured the area. MFRD crews worked efficiently to clear the building as they assessed the scene, ensuring resident safety while controlling the flames.
The Fire Marshal’s office has launched an investigation to confirm the cause of the fire, though preliminary information suggests it began on the stove. The team’s rapid response and adherence to safety protocols allowed the situation to be handled swiftly, preventing damage from spreading beyond the impacted unit.
