An investigation in Nashville is ongoing as Metro Police delve deeper into a case reportedly involving illegal photographs of women. The 31-year-old suspect, identified as Matthew Vollmer, has been charged with eight counts of unlawful photography. The charges involve four female victims, whose ages range from 26 to 33.

Special Victims Division detectives began their investigation in April after a woman who was reportedly in a dating relationship with Vollmer called to report that she had accessed his computer and found a file folder containing videos of them engaging in sexual activity. That video was allegedly captured without the victim’s consent.

According to information released by police, the woman told detectives that Vollmer had given her the passcode to his computer while he was out of town. She then stumbled upon the video while working on his computer. She was unaware of the video camera that captured what should have been a private moment, but says she found it and notified authorities.  Police say she found the hidden camera that was disguised as an alarm clock. Again, detectives were told by the victim that she did not consent to being recorded.

Further investigative work resulted in additional charges being filed against Vollmer that involved three additional victims. After Vollmer was transported to the jail in Davidson County, he posted a $40,000 bond and is now free, awaiting a future court date that may include even more charges. Metro authorities confirmed that the investigation is not over - - it is continuing.
