Rutherford County, TN – Snow showers swept across Rutherford County and much of Middle Tennessee Monday evening, bringing a light dusting to some areas. While the snow isn’t expected to cause significant accumulation, residents are urged to exercise caution on the roads as temperatures drop into the low 20s overnight.
In Rutherford County, snow showers may create slick conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses, which tend to freeze first. The most significant snowfall is expected in northern Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and the Cumberland Plateau, where up to half an inch of snow could cover the ground.
Frigid temperatures are left behind, as we are expected to only reach the upper 30's Tuesday but no precipitation. The rest of the week will stay dry, with below-average temperatures persisting until Wednesday, when highs climb into the lower 50s.
