MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Dr. Caitlin Bullard, principal of the Discovery School, has been honored as the Principal of the Year by Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS). The award recognizes her exemplary leadership and dedication to fostering academic success at the highly regarded academic magnet school.
Dr. Bullard joined MCS in 2019 as principal of Cason Lane Academy, where her innovative leadership earned the school multiple grants and the distinguished Tennessee STEM Designation. She has since brought her focus on collaboration, academic excellence, and innovation to the Discovery School, which serves approximately 400 students from kindergarten through sixth grade.
“Being selected by her peers for this honor speaks volumes about the respect and admiration Dr. Bullard has earned among her colleagues,” said Dr. Trey Duke, Director of Schools. “She is an outstanding leader who models excellence in every aspect of her work. Her ability to foster strong relationships with students, staff, and the broader school community is truly inspiring.”
Discovery School, located at 1165 Middle Tennessee Boulevard, was recently recognized as a Level 5 school by the State of Tennessee, underscoring its commitment to academic achievement under Dr. Bullard’s leadership.
