Sat. (Dec. 28, 2024) 10AM - 3:30PM Learn about what happened during the Battle of Stones River 162-years ago with this full-day of FREE living history demonstrations at the Stones River National Battlefield (3501 Old Nashville Hwy.).
Join us at the site where desperate fighting raged between the Nashville Pike and the Stones River during the afternoon of December 31, 1862. Two Confederate attacks in this area tried to break the Union Army of the Cumberland's line. Their failure secured the federal position defending the Nashville Pike and turned the Battle of Stones River toward becoming a critical U.S. victory that reshaped the course and consequences of the Civil War.
These programs will take place on property preserved by the American Battlefield Trust and interpreted by our partners in the Murfreesboro City Parks Department.
