Murfreesboro, TN - For over 40-years WGNS has been the location where the public has been able to drop off tattered American flags. Over the year, BSA Troop 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church has retired them with dignity. A senior citizen listener asked if we knew where he could get help in fixing the rope on his flagpole, as it slipped out of the pulley.

He said, "I can't get to the top of my 30-foot flagpole to fix the rope, and I need to change flags. I have flown the flag for over 25-years. Would the scouts or another group help me get the rope back on the pulley?"

Well, he really got help.  Murfreesboro Fire Rescue came to the rescue and did the job quickly. You talk about a happy resident. Now the rope is back in the pulley and he has a new flag.

Thanks to the firefighters, Old Glory still flies proudly over this senior's home!
