Number of Dog Bite Incidents in Tennessee is DOWN

National Dog Bite Prevention Week is May 19-25 and from 2011 to 2012, State Farm says the number of dog bites in the state of Tennessee decreased to 66 from 78, which puts the Volunteer State 19th on the list. This follows the national trend of decreasing numbers for dog bites overall. In 2011, 3,750 claims were reported totaling $109 million. In 2012, those numbers dropped to 3,670 claims totaling $108 million.
