RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Join WGNS Radio as we engage with representatives from the Rutherford County Schools in this episode of the Action Line. With over 51,000 students enrolled, RCS is the 4th largest school district in Tennessee, and we're diving deep into the exciting developments shaping the future of education in our community.

In this episode, WGNS host Scott Walker welcomes Laura Caban and Kris Marshall from the RCS Human Resources Department to discuss hiring incentives, available positions, and alternate pathways for new educators. Discover what motivates these new teachers to choose Rutherford County Schools as their home.

We’ll also feature Jason Eaton, the new principal of the soon-to-open Poplar Hill Elementary School. Learn about his educational background, the steps involved in opening a new school, and what parents can expect when the school opens its doors to K through 5th grade students this August for the 2025-2026 school year. We'll also explore the exciting possibilities for future school expansions next to Poplar Hill in the Blackman community.
