Being robbed in your own front yard does not make you feel welcome on your own property. A Murfreesboro man told officers he went outside of his Hunt Street home to check his vehicle for a flat tire around 11:00 Monday night when a large black male struck him in the face knocking him to the ground. The victim says that he was further assaulted once on the ground until the masked man ripped his back pocket off and stole his wallet. The culprit fled the scene on foot.
During the struggle, the victim was able to pull the mask off the attacker. He said that he recognized the suspect by his first name, but knew few details about the man. The case is being investigated.
