A retired vinyl siding salesman who is now 85-years old is finding joy in helping others. M.C. Radford quietly lives in a small home located behind his daughters' house in Woodbury. Mr. Radford is a big believer in Cybernetics and possibly one of the best salesman ever, at least that's what you will think after visiting with him.
While the word Cybernetics sounds like something out of a sci-fi novel, it actually means the science of control and communication. Others describe it as the science of effective organization or the science of understanding. It is used by salesmen far and wide.
The word Cybernetics was coined by a mathematician, engineer and social philosopher named Norbert Wiener. While M.C. Radford is not an engineer, he is an amazing salesman...
Radford works with individuals because he enjoys helping others. In fact, he often hypnotizes individuals to be better at sales.
Before you jump to conclusions, have you ever looked into the definition of the word "Hypnotize?" It actually means to capture the whole attention of someone. When speaking to Radford in his small earth toned living room that lacks a TV and has only a radio, his stories and repertoire of quotes will be enough to capture your attention.
Radford may be over the age of 80, but he is sharp as a tack...
The Cannon County man says, "The secret of youth and good health is love, joy, inner peace and laughter."

Looking Back:
While at M.C. Radford's home, he pulled out a file of old newspaper clippings. He said that he once traveled the country in sales and helping others. He once did a hypnosis show where he said, "Look at this picture... they were on the floor looking for their belly button because I convinced them their belly buttons had fallen out (laughter)." He also talked about how he has figured out how to use his mind to solve problems that others fail to think through.
Radford pointed to one clipping about the Marcia Trimble case involving the murder of a nine year old girl in Nashville who was delivering Girl Scout Cookies. Trimble disappeared in 1975. As he pointed at the clip he stated, "I told the police where they could find her, in the garage." Her body was located a month after she was reported missing... in the garage of a home. He said, "I told them." It wasn't until 2008 that a 60-year old man was indicted for the murder of Trimble. In 2009, Jerome Barrett was convicted and sentenced to 44-years in prison for her death in 1975.
