Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete, LLC., a concrete manufacturer, announced today the acquisition of Metro Ready Mix, a Nashville (Tennessee) based concrete manufacturer and construction materials company. The collection of assets include 14 concrete plants across six counties in Middle Tennessee along with all equipment and construction materials.
Jeff Hollingshead, General Manager and CEO of Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete, stated, "by joining the strengths and resources of both companies Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete will be an even more valuable business partner to our clients." Hollingshead also added that, "the acquisition of Metro Ready Mix will be mostly transparent to our client base; the name will change along with the branding."
President of Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete, Mike Hollingshead, stated "We are very happy to be able to retain all the Metro Ready Mix employees and gladly invite them to join our Smyrna Ready Mix family."
Combined, the company's projected sales for 2014-2015 will be $75-$80 million. Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete now has 30 locations in Tennesseeand Kentucky, 200 mixer trucks, four concrete pump trucks and a construction materials division operated by approximately 300 employees.

Smyrna Ready Mix was founded by Mike and Melissa Hollingshead in 2001 to provide better service to contractors and homeowners in the Rutherford County area. Prior to this most recent acquisition, Smyrna Ready Mix owned 17 concrete plants in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Metro Ready Mix was established in October 1982 and has been involved in almost every major concrete construction project in Middle Tennessee since its inception.
