Smyrna Police are still investigating a motorcycle accident that occurred on July 13th. A Peterbuilt truck and a motorcycle collided on South Lowry Street near Bell Furniture. 27-year old Derrick Maynard was operating the motorcycle and 45-year old Bradley Foster was driving the tractor trailer truck. Maynard was transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center after the wreck, but died shortly after. The cause of the accident has not been determined and police tell WGNS that the investigation into the wreck will take several weeks.
