Is anyone missing a handgun in Murfreesboro?

A man on Compton Road in Murfreesboro called the authorities after finding a .40 handgun near his mailbox. The resident told police that after finding the gun, he placed it in the back of his truck so a child would not accidentally find it. The gun was loaded with one bullet in the chamber, but the magazine was empty.

The gun was a Glock 35. A police report shows that the gun has not been reported as stolen, yet.
