The Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department has accepted the donation of a new emergency command and transport response vehicle from Nissan Americas in Smyrna.
Kittrell Fire Chief John Ingle says the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4 will be utilized on fire scenes to establish command post operations and to transport firefighters to and from scenes. He noted, “We are honored to receive this generous donation from Nissan Americas. It will be another tool in the tool kit in our service to the citizens of the Kittrell and Readyville communities.”
The vehicle has been equipped with emergency warning and radio communications gear, installed by Gemini Communications Inc. in Murfreesboro. Additionally, the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle has been outfitted with a command console, allowing for resource and personnel management. The console will also house additional radio communications equipment, allowing for increased interoperability between multiple jurisdictions and departments.
The Kittrell Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1990.
