Voicing Concerns For Mason Pike Development

Many residents are having growing fears about possible residential development along Manson Pike in Murfreesboro. The City Council met this week to discuss turning 17 acres of land over to Bonavic Development, creating apartments and more in the area. The biggest problems neighbors have are the issues of sink holes, a cave with rushing water nearby, and historic property, such as the Springfield home, just to name a few. Heather McQuiddy is a Manson Pike resident who is worried about different areas such as the Springfield Home..

She also says there were plans to build a pool house next to the historic Washington & Smith cemetery..

McQuiddy gave her thoughts about what the Council said..

The Council decided to defer the vote of zoning the land to Bonavic Development. Council members Ron Washington and Eddie Smotherman expressed they're not comfortable with making a decision about this yet, until further study and investigation is looked into if the property is suitable for this kind of development.
