Rutherford County Chancellor Robert Corlew said in court on Monday that the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro has a right to build a larger place of worship. That being said, the Chancellor affirmed that those opposing the mosque can only challenge whether or not an open meeting violation occurred with the county allowing them the permits to build the mosque on Veals Road. The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro is in the process of building a 52,960 square foot community center and mosque.
