The local YMCA is in the planning stages of renovating their Murfreesboro location. Renovations will be most noticeable on the interior of the structure that is located on Thompson Lane. Some of the changes include a beginners exercise room, several new social areas and a new After Breast Cancer recovery meeting room. The changes, if approved by the Y of Middle Tennessee this Thursday, should begin in November with construction lasting for about 120-days. The total cost for renovations and marketing will run aproximatly $1-million dollars. The Y says they will refocus on families once the renovations are complete in 2012. Again, the renovations could be approved by the main YMCA office as early as Thursday.
