MTSU has a new weather alert system. The new service provided by AccuWeather will give pinpointed alerts to the campus when bad or dangerous weather approaches. The contract with Accuweather will cost about $12,000, but will give Middle Tennessee State University Officials more accurate readings on approaching storms and tornadoes. Accuweather meteorologist will even be available by phone to discuss dangerous weather with the university. Nearby Vanderbilt uses the same weather service to provide students with weather alerts there.
