An iron gate valued at about $5,000 was damaged at the historic Oakland's Mansion entrance in Murfreesboro. The gate appeared to have been purposely struck by a car or truck.
When police inspected the damage, it looked as if it was struck by a blue vehicle. A police report showed that blue paint marks were on the gate post. There was no vehicle debris near the gate which made it appear as if it were not an accident, but instead a purposeful act of vandalism.
The case has been labeled as a vandalism as opposed to a hit and run accident.
