"The Mural Project" unveiling at Patterson Park Community Center was held in recent days. Selected youth who spend their time at Patterson Park during after school hours spent ten weeks working on Project Mural, a program lead by the Murfreesboro Parks & Rec. Cultural Arts Department.

The group spent several weeks brainstorming and developing a concept for the mural based on what Patterson Park meant to them and the community. Several sketches based on their ideas were presented, a final image approved and then the process of transferring it to the wall and then painting it.
