The old Rutherford County Hospital is fading fast. All of the original structure and a large percentage of the newer section, including the ER and new operating rooms have been razed. Middle Tennessee Medical Center attempted to sell the structure, but had no serious lookers. Now that the campus is being returned to raw land, there have been several inquiries. 

Demo Plus, a Nashville firm that specializes in environmentally friendly demolition and recycling, is taking down the old hospital that fronts Highland Avenue and University Street, as well as Bell and Lytle Streets.
