Actions by a German shepherd allowed the owner to scare away a burglary before he stole more property early Tuesday morning on Coral Drive.
Owner Phillip Vinson’s dog acted like someone was outside his home about 2:30 a.m. so Vinson and the dog walked outside to find a burglar rifling through neighbor Justin West’s vehicle, Deputy Jason Dowdle reported. The burglar fled with the dog chasing him but the dog returned alone later. Dowdle located two other vehicles the burglar broke into with nothing missing from one. Victim Cassie Pollack reported missing her brown leather tri-fold wallet containing $1, a bank debit card and driver’s license. Her Dodge Ram was unlocked.
Patrol deputies searched the area for the burglar but were unable to locate him. He was described as a lack man about 6-foot-2 who wore a grey hooded sweatshirt. People with information about the suspect may call Detective Bryant Gregory at 904-3054.
