The Stones River Amateur Radio Club will be hosting a Field Day event starting on Saturday at 1:00pm and ending  Sunday at 1:00pm.  Field Day gives Amateur Radio Operators the opportunity to simulate an emergency operation, setting up remote amateur radio stations in the middle of fields and using only generators to power their operations.  It helps them to train to be better prepared to provide communications (when there is no other form available) during a disaster.  The event will be open to the general public and they will have a chance to talk on the air their Get On The Air (GOTA) Station. 

Field Day will be located at The LaVergne Rescue Squad, 141 Gambill Lane in LaVergne, TN.
