September Wetter & Cooler than Normal

September 2011 will be remembered...weatherwise...as cooler and wetter than normal. Just over six inches of rain fell during the month, which is over two-and-a-half inches more than the normal rainfall average for the month. Much of that came from a tropic system that hovered over the mid-state area for several days. While the month started off with record heat, the month was nearly two-and-a-half degrees cooler than normal. The 99-degrees on September 2nd and 3rd were the hottest days. But the average high was just under 80-degrees for the month.
