Residents on the westside of LaVergne can breathe easier. Shortly before 7:00 o'clock Sunday evening (10/9/2011) all water restrictions were lifted.
LaVergne spokesperson Kathy Tyson told WGNS News, "Effective immediately, all water restrictions in LaVergne have been lifted, as the water storage tank at Sanford Knob has reached normal operating capacity. The City of La Vergne would like to express sincere appreciation to residents and businesses west of I-24 for their help in water conservation efforts, as well as to the Public Works Department for repairing the major break."
The 18-inch water main on Mason Road that broke on Friday and again Saturday has been repaired. City officials were asking residents in the impacted area to conserve water, but that has now been lifted and everything is back to normal.
