Bradley Academy and Murfreesboro City Schools invites the public to attend the production of Captain Louie jr. at The Theatre at Patterson Park with performances on November 3rd and 5th at 7:00 p.m. and a Saturday matinee on November 5th at 2 p.m.
The production features Young Louie feeling lonely and without friends in his new neighborhood and looking to cheer himself up on Halloween Night. In an imaginary journey, Louie returns to his old neighborhood friends on the wings of his favorite toy. The story is full of tricks and treats and features the music and lyrics of Stephen Schwartz.
“Captain Louie is about friendship and the importance of making new friends and keeping old ones,” says Music Theatre International. “This is a great show for kids of all ages to watch. They will learn valuable lessons while being entertained.”
Tickets are on sale now at Bradley Academy for $4 each and can be purchased at the door for $5. The matinee performance is $4 and kids four and under can attend for free.
Bradley Academy is an arts integrated school located in the heart of Murfreesboro. Bradley students attend drama classes once a week and learn everything from playwriting to play performance including drama, music, instrumental music and art.
The Bradley Academy Musical Theatre performs two shows annually featuring students dancing, singing and acting. Students work over 130 hours on each musical production and practice after school three times a week.
Captain Louie jr is based on the book “The Trip” by Ezra Jack Keats and presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
